Why "Creative Technologies"?

We had three candidate names: Creative Technologies, Digital Culture and Creative Technology, and Creative Intelligence and Technology. All three contained the word "creative", and that was no accident.

The association we want to build has two sides. On one side are software, AI, entrepreneurship, and supplier development in defence and aerospace: technology that serves work and industry. On the other side is art: people making images and music with AI, working with code, experimenting with new media. We usually see these two sides apart, with separate events, communities and associations. We want them at the same table, because a good product and a good artwork start from the same curiosity.

We deliberately kept the word "art" out of the name. Art is an important part of the association but not the only one; "creative" carries both.

Our logo tells the same story. The mark is a circle. Three quarters of it is a continuous curve that stands for art, the hand and intuition. The lower-left quarter is built from pixels and stands for code and the machine. The two meet at the centre.

We will complete the official name check before filing the founding notification.
